Nothing really makes you think about your health more than when you are faced with an illness yourself. As a teenager I was diagnosed with depression and placed on anti-depressants without any other form of therapy. I was in distress and felt like I needed so much more than just a tablet to make me feel better. Luckily I have a very open-minded mother who realised the anguish that I felt, and she found some alternatives for me. Kinesiology was the first treatment that I experienced and after my very first session, I not only felt like I had been heard and listened to, but I also just felt immense relief. This is how my true healing began.
The more sessions I went for, the more intrigued I became, and so my passion for healing and health was born. I even decided to become a health practitioner myself and studied various modalities of natural therapies.
I began studying Kinesiology in 2006 in order to satisfy this new ignited passion and to help others who were feeling like I had. Of course studying also lead to empowering myself and to further healing.
I am equally impassioned about writing and have found that various forms of writing can shift our way of thinking and bring about powerful transformation and healing.
Wellness is not my only passion – I have always been drawn to writing, since I was little. For as long as I can remember, I’ve kept a journal and used it to write about anything and everything. Writing is something that I’ve used to work through my emotions and to also help me simply make sense of situations or traumatic events. A lot of my clients already know the power behind letter writing. I am therefore currently busy with a creative writing degree to further my knowledge. I am equally impassioned about writing and have found that various forms of writing can shift our way of thinking and bring about powerful transformation and healing. I plan to put a creative spin on this and will be including more of in my practice.
